I was seated at a 4-top by myself which was fine because I ended up with a really cute server named Ricky. I chose a Dragon Berry Mojito Martini because anything with "dragon" in it has to be good. It was also interesting to note a lot of the food and drinks were referred to as Cuban. I didn't know that that is what Trudy's main style was. I also ordered the Enchiladas Suiza (I have had these before at a different Trudy's and they were yummy.) I basically did what most people do now-a-days when they are sitting alone at a table in a restaurant-I played on my phone. When the Dragon Berry Mojito Martini arrived I was very impressed. It was the best martini I have ever had. I have never tried Dragon Berry Rum before but it was really good. At Trudy's there is a standing rule that you are only allowed two "shaker" drinks. I was only planning on the one but I could understand how you might want more.
Next my enchiladas came out. Not so impressed. I remember the last ones being very good but these were very dry. Could have just been the lateness of the evening. So it is not like I probably won't try them again. I was just disappointed. I ate them anyway because I was hungry.
It had been a long but relatively productive day so I went out to the Jeep to head home. My car wouldn't start UGH! I floundered around trying to come up with a solution to my current problem. I did not have jumper cables and had no idea why my car wouldn't start. In my mind it was the worst case scenario.
I asked a couple of patrons as they were walking into Trudy's and got turned down. I hate asking for help. I tried to call my roadside assistance and the best they could do was give me some numbers of towing companies that might help out. I got the numbers but decided to go inside first and see if my cute waiter could help me out. I also called mom to see if she would head my way in case I needed her to pick me up.
I went inside and found Ricky and he said that he could help me out in just a second so I waited and true to his word he came outside and helped jump start my car. I just want to say if you go to the Trudy's on Burnett and he still works there please take care of Ricky. He wouldn't accept any money and if I had only known that filling out a comment card at the time would have earned him money I would have definitely done that for him as well.
Mom showed up and followed me back to the house safe and sound.
