6.17.12 Swimming in Sunshine pt2

It took us a while to get going but we were finally on our way down town to Deep Eddy Pool. It is a pool that is spring fed that has been around for a very long time. When I first got there and looked down at the pool I immediately decided it was a kids pool. There are lanes on one side that are marked for swimming and there were plenty of adults taking advantage of it but the bulk of the pool was taken over by families and lots of children. I was not sure this was the place  for me but I am always up for trying new things-plus I got to spend time with my nephew. As soon as we got there and got situated everyone headed for the water. Unfortunately the lifeguards soon blew there whistles which meant everyone had to get out of the pool.

I am still not sure why there is a "break" but it lasted for about 5 minutes and then everyone was allowed back in. Isaac is two and he was not happy at all that he had to come back out of the water. We splashed around for a while and I hung out with my sister's friend Jessica. It was more like lounging in the shallow water than anything else but Isaac was happy. Deep Eddy has movies in the summertime. I guess you can swim and enjoy the children's movie of the week. Which is pretty cool.

Finally it got kind of late and chilly and we stopped by Magnolia Cafe on the way home to eat.
We started with chips and queso. It didn't last long because we were all so hungry. Kelly got fajitas, mom and Jessica got hamburgers and I got a quesadilla. The food took a little while. We were told someone dropped my quesadilla on the floor so they had to remake it which took some time but the food was good. There are a lot of choices and true to south Austin culture a lot of it is "good" for you. Magnolia is a cute little place that seems to be a staple in Austin.
