6.18.12 Cedar Park Celebrity

Kyleigh, Malibu and I took off for Brushy Creek Park today. Since Mali is a foster and new to our family I want to start her off easy on the outdoors stuff that we do. Today unfortunately was incredibly hot and Brushy Creek was looking kind of ucky. The trail runs partly along Brushy Creek in Cedar Park. We started off alright but the dogs wanted to check everything out, so they were pulling me in all directions. They went into the water for a little bit in a part that didn't look too bad (there was funky looking floating algae type stuff on the water along the banks.) It was just too hot though so we made a loop and headed back to the car. On the way back to the car I see this huge black Pit Bull charging us and my first instinct is to run, but I didn't. It was friendly but it wanted to play and the girls were on leash at the time so it was making things difficult. The pup's owner showed up and apologized and when he saw me he recognized me and shouted "Bellini's!"He was a semi regular of mine at the restaurant. We talked for a second and then left.

Since we didn't get to spend too much time out and we were on this side of the world, I decided to go over to Cedar Park Dog Park. It would be Mali's first time with us at one. All in all it went pretty well. I kept Mali on leash until I felt she would be ok. She mostly just stayed by my side or tried to climb up in another dog owner's lap who was sitting on a bench. Ky just did her usual thing and played around with the other dogs. We left when it cleared out and I headed to work.
