And the Hunt is On.... (3.31.13)

We have made it all the way back to Easter and soon this backwards blog will re-right itself:)

For Easter we all (Mom, Kelly, Isaac, Jessica, and Kat) met at In.gredients which is a cute little healthy shop/grocery store. There was supposed to be an Easter egg hunt there in their garden but i think we got there just a little too late. There were tons of people in that little tiny shop. I had brought Ky with me and she loved sniffing and trying to lick all the children. They were selling breakfast type foods so we grabbed a bite before we headed over to Kelly's old house (Jessica and Kats house).
We colored eggs(We made one with each of our names on it ) and then had our own Easter egg hunt after Isaac's nap. The hunt took a while because it was just poor Isaac looking for a ton of eggs. But he found them all. We hula hooped with home made hula hoops, we blew bubbles and played around with Ky.

It's Raining, It's Pouring.... (4.2.13)

The first flooding in 2013 was actually in April. Here is my drive to work past the Zilker soccer fields.

Park N Murray at Bat Bar (4.4.13)

Rex invited everyone out to the Bat Bar to check out his band Park N Murray. I was surprised at how many Changer's past and present had showed up. Had a hard time getting a drink at the bar. Seems something had gone down earlier in the evening and they were short a bartender. Hung out with everyone for a while. I was impressed with the band. I am not big on rap type music but I really like their songs.

2013 Cap 10K -I think I can, I think I can...(4.7.13)

I think this was my second CAP 10K. I was with Angela, Paula and Xander. 25000 people run or walk the Cap10K. It is always a pretty slow start because there are too many people but eventually it evens out. There are bands along the way and the route goes through downtown.

The Queen of all she can see... (4.11.13)

Took Ky to the Greenbelt. We started at the Zilker entrance and got past Gus Fruh. It's been awhile so I really don't remember the particulars from this day except that when we were done we just lounged around in the grass.

Creepy Cajun Crawlers (4.23.13)

One of my favorite restaurants in the area is Cypress Grill. During the crawdad season they serve pounds of this delectable critter on Tuesdays til they run out. You have to get there kind of early to get a seat because all of the older folk are already there. It has been a while(since while I am writing this it is already November)but I seem to recall they had 2 sizes that you could purchase: 1 lb and 3 lbs. They also come with spicy potatoes and corn. Now if you are from the south you know that these mudbugs are very popular when they are in season and just about everyone down here throws some sort of crawfish boil at one time or another. If you have never had crawfish before you are not only missing out on the delicious tiny morsel of meat that is within the tail of this miniature crustacean but also the tedious task of retrieving said morsel from the tiny tail. It is a lot of fun and in my opinion-totally worth it.

Neon Blue Cherries: Myth or Fact? (4.29.13)

I was hanging out at the Brass House after work and Joey my favorite bartender was showing me that they got in some blue cherries for one of their drinks. Like the pink ones we have at my work they were labeled with "all natural." I do not believe that cherries are this color in the wild :) I did however get a cool picture of it though.

Muuuul-tiiiiii-pass (5.16.13)

First outdoor movie of the summer hosted by Alamo Drafthouse in Republic Park on Guadalupe.
We went to see one of my all time favorites 5th Element. It was kind of weird being downtown with my dog in the evening. Especially since I normally am downtown to go to work. Republic Park is a small park that I never really noticed before. Alamo had their giant inflatable screen up and a couple of vendors were set up. It was kind of a cozy setting (as much as outside can be "cozy") I brought some wine for me and some dog snacks for Ky. The movie was even better since it was outside :) Ky mad a new little friend.
