The season passes were definitely a good investment. Angela, Manny, Xander and I left bright and early for
Schlitterbahn in
New Braunfels. This time we went to the new park. Our first ride was
the Master Blaster. We had to stand in line Forever!!!!!!! After great
discussion about how we were going to try and lose weight not to be in
the back of the double tube by the end of the summer, we made it to the
beginning of the line. Xander decided he wanted to ride with me. Our
boat was named "Twinkly." It was fun as always. The Master Blaster is an
uphill water roller coaster. I rode the first one that was created when
I worked at Schlitterbahn in the 90's. Next was the ride with the green
tubes. The line was a lot shorter for this one. We tried to have a race
between me and Angela and Manny and Xander. Angela and I lost to the
boys.

We then went over to The Falls- which is the longest ride (mainly
because it loops back around). You can get on the ride in several
different spots so there are normally no lines (unless they are out of
tubes.) It is a pretty good rapidy ride. The only part I am not crazy
about is the conveyor belt part of it. It takes you from one part and
puts you back in at the "beginning."
I was heading around one of
the bends and went through a rapid part but I flipped over and hit my
head on the side. Now in the original park at Schlitterbahn all the
rides have a foamish type side. The Falls does not. The lifeguards
helped me to the side but one of them made the comment that he felt me
hit the wall (the lifeguards are teenagers.) No harm no foul though, I
was fine and I got back on my tube and took back off down the ride.

Xander wanted to try the "Boogie Bahn" so we went over to "Surfenburg"
and him and Manny got in line. "Boogie Bahn" is a big fake wave of high
powered water that you can use a boogie board to "ride" it. I can't
remember if I ever tried Boogie Bahn back in the day. It has changed a
little bit. All I remember is that there was a good chance a girl was
going to lose her bikini top and the season passers took forever to get
off the ride. Xander went first. He did good, but he has no real weight
to him so he didn't last long. Manny went next and stayed on for a
little longer. The last ride on our list was the Wave pool. Wave pools
have come a long way. Not only was it a pool but a "lazy river." So the
waves started on one side and push all around in a circle and end up in
the pool. It was actually a lot of fun. Afterwards, the boys shot water
cannons for a while at the huge pirate ship and then we took off.

We like trying new places to eat and today was no different. We stopped in at
Tj's
on the loop. They have a ton of food to choose from. I was trying to be
somewhat healthy and grabbed a bbq chicken sandwich with tater tots (ok
not really that healthy but I had had my sights on a Philly cheese
steak.) Manny and Angela got burgers and Xander got a hot dog. The
restaurant had random things on the wall and some local jerseys. It was
kind of like they were trying to be like TGIFridays or Applebees - but
there just wasn't enough "stuff." We got our food from the counter and
sat down to eat. Xander's hot dog was enormous. Manny and Angela said
their burgers were ok. My chicken was strange. It was a flat hardish
tough piece of chicken with a big blob of bottled bbq sauce on both
sides of the chicken. I ate it but it was greasy and not very tasty. We
checked in on Foursquare afterwards and noticed the first tip on there
was that the food was not very good. Well we tried it and now can check
that one off the list.
