I thought it rained....

9.21.13
I decided to take Kyleigh to Turkey Creek because we haven't been there in a while and I figured that all the rain we just got would have at least put some water in the creek. Well my guess is that there was no water before because there was very little left over from the rain. Three were a lot of cars in the parking lot but because of the nature of the trail we didn't see too many people out there. The beginning of the trail was very dry (Including the first little pool). There were a lot of trees down at the one spot that is blocked off with fence and of course it was the first spot with any water and so Ky headed down into it. Unfortunately she got into a spot where she couldn't get back out so I had to go through the fence and under the fallen trees to then balance on a crumbling bank to pull my silly dog out. For some reason she doesn't like to/know how to jump up very well(I have to help her into the Jeep every time). Soon we found more spots with some muddy water so she was happy. At one point she found something off the trail that interested her and some other dogs. She didn't smell like dead things after (She loves to roll in the most smelly stuff) so I am not sure what she had found. We went all the way past the fork to the other pool which was pretty low. On the way back we ran into a couple in matching UT shirts. She was afraid of dogs and he was deathly afraid of snakes. Makes me wonder why they chose an off leash hiking trail in the woods. Speaking off... I saw a baby snake on the trail. It was pretty cute but I didn't try to pick it up because I didn't know whether it would bite me or not. There were also so really pretty purple berries growing on long, tall stalks. I wonder if they were poisonous. It was a fun day.
