Today was overcast and reasonably warm with a breeze- perfect day for a long hike! I decided to not only take Kyleigh with me but also to take my roomate's dog Blackie. We all got in the Jeep and took off for
Barton Creek. Blackie was unsure of the Jeep ride but she did fine riding shotgun.

There is some construction at the trail head that we had to maneuver around but at last we were off. Unfortunately we still havent had enough rain to put water back in our creeks so for the most part were were following the dry creekbed. I brought the wrong shoes it seems: I needed my hiking boots instead of my running shoes to make it over all the rocks.

The girls did good and we stopped several times a long the way so that everyone could hydrate. There are some neat cliff's along the way that are riddles with small caves. There were also some areas where branches crossed over the path . The swimming hole that we have gone to a couple of ties in the past was almost dried up but I think there is a spring that at least keeps some water in it. The whole trip is supposed to be about 8 miles. at 3 miles in I decided to turn around because I know Blackie isn't used to that kind of endurance trek and both dogs were looking tired. I would not have liked to have added dog weight lifting into my day. As it was getting later we started to see more people along the trail. It seems to be popular for off road bikes. We made it back and got loaded up.
On our way out I saw some guys trying to fly a para sail. They didn't have any kind of land gear. In Colorado we used to see the guys para sailing on boards on the frozen lake near Breckenridge.

We stopped off at
D'Lites for some low calorie yogurt. The girls split half a vanilla frozen yogurt as a treat.
Later on after watching
The Following on Fox and
Lost Girl on the SyFy Channel I tried to get Kyleigh off the couch to go to bed but she wasn't having any of it.
